Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

On Monday we went to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma. It was Xander’s first visit to a zoo, but it won’t be his last. We bought a family pass so we can go anytime. Xander had a blast. He loved seeing the animals but he also just loved seeing everything, as Ryan said, “he loved seeing the green fence posts!” His favorite stops were the meerkats and the North Pacific Aquarium. He really loved seeing all the different fish, no photos of that area (it was dark and no flash allowed).

We had a lot of fun and can’t wait to go back. Next time I think I might skip the stroller, there were a lot of places you couldn’t easily get to with it and it was hard to maneuver it around in the crowds. For the most part Xander really liked walking.  Also, the cafes do not provide straws or lids to cups (they’re a danger to the animals) and Xander and a milk carton alone was a messy combo. Next time I’ll pack along one of his sippy cups.
