Rain, rain, go away
\nCome again some other day<\/p>\n

The old nursery rhyme sums up my feelings completely. Most of the time I actually like the rain but it has been wet, muddy, cold, and grey for far too many days. <\/p>\n

We got our last box from the CSA last week. We enjoyed our summer of owning a share of an organic farm. The produce was fresh and delicious and we tried out quite a few new foods. However, we decided not to do it again next year. I definitely will be going to the Farmer’s Market every week for our fruits and veggies, I really enjoyed the trips down there and the food is marvelous. But the CSA just didn’t really work for us, we’d get an overload of some things and too little of others. The same thing happens in your own garden of course but you would plant for your tastes. Plant a little bit of beets, lots of tomatoes, little bit of fennel, tons of asparagus.<\/p>\n

We still had an overload of carrots in our fridge and Ryan kept mentioning carrot cake so I finally got the grater out (didn’t even grate one knuckle!). The vegetable drawer is much lighter now that I’ve used up a lot of the carrots.<\/p>\n
