{"id":54,"date":"2004-03-14T17:45:09","date_gmt":"2004-03-14T17:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kateandryan.net\/wpblog\/?p=54"},"modified":"2005-02-06T07:40:00","modified_gmt":"2005-02-06T15:40:00","slug":"more-planting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.kateandryan.net\/?p=54","title":{"rendered":"More planting!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/nucleus\/media\/1\/20040314-thaipink.jpg\"><br \/>\nThis morning I was able to plant the remaining plants:<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/p>\n<li>The Little Gem Lettuce<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Fine Verde Basil<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Genovese Basil<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>And, a free gift from the good folks at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rareseeds.com\/catlisting.php?dbswitch=&#038;cat=51&#038;subcat=84\">Baker Creek Heirloom Seed<\/a>, Thai Pink Egg Tomato!  &#8220;Delicious, grape tomatoes from Thailand, &#8220;The Land of Smiles!&#8221; The crisp pink fruit are bursting with natural goodness, sweet and rich. This tomato is popular all over the Kingdom. The brilliant pink grape shaped, 1 oz. fruit are perfect for fresh markets, restaurants and more! Good yields and fruit is uniform.&#8221; That was a nice surprise.<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nThe big question mark is how well will these plants do?  The porch isn&#8217;t necessarily the best place for plants.  It gets pretty good sun (when it&#8217;s out), but it isn&#8217;t ideal.  Next year, if we can get into a house, it&#8217;ll be nice to have a larger garden.  Even so the Earthboxes would be nice for a kitchen garden or other plants in areas that can&#8217;t otherwise be planted (decks, concrete areas, etc).<\/p>\n<p>Now we&#8217;re waiting for them to come up and get large enough to transplant.  Outside everything is growing like crazy with fresh leaves, buds, and flowers.
